First Fundraiser in a couple years
They are quite exhausting and we have been really busy.
Jeremy's Grandma Tye put together a fund raising
garage sale for us for September 11th-12th.
She hired the Garage Sale Guru to
help out, Ann Bohnert who can be
reached at 816-377-0678 to
help manage your next garage sale.
Bev Chapman came out to do a follow up on Jeremy's progress. It is
set to air September 11th at 6pm on Channel 9.

We're currently trying an
online magazine sales fundraiser.
Jeremy's Aunt Penny looked into this and set it up.
I didn't want to send the email from the site just in case someone would
be irritated by it. Rather I'm sending an email letting everyone
know of the link above should you chose to participate.
Please consider helping the family pay for some of the expensive treatments for Jeremy not covered by insurance by participating in the fundraiser or by donating to Jeremy's Endearment Fund directly.
We still have wristbands left if anyone is
interested in them.
3 for $5 includes mailing them to you. Just
shoot me an
email to work out the details.
We mostly have RED or
RED & WHITE. There are no more
yellow & purple.
Thank you,
John
| Pancake Breakfast - with
Chris Cakes
&
Regency
Coffee. On May 13th, 2006 we had a fundraiser that was a blast. The Raytown YMCA donated the room to us, THANKS GO OUT TO THEM! Chris Cakes provided the food, Regency Coffee provided the drinks. It was a lot of fun because we had a lot of people helping. Holly and her sister spent a lot of time before the event making jewelry to sell. They had some help by a few friends. The jewelry sales exceeded the money raised by the event. Between ticket sales, donations, and jewelry sales we nearly raised $2500. For anyone who may use this site as a way to come up with
fundraisers for their cause take note as to what we learned we
should have done to make this event better. |
| Poker Run With all the rain we had the night before and on through the morning it wasn't looking very good for the run. We arrived late about 10:40 and there wasn't another bike there. About an hour later only a dozen or so had shown up. Thankfully after another hour 60+ bikes had shown up for the event. We had police escort out of town to keep us together and were on our way to The Outpost. I noticed (being last in line) that as we passed houses out in the middle of nowhere that people were coming out to watch as the bikes roared by. After leaving the Outpost we headed to The Backdoor Saloon where they were selling t-shirts that said: Ride For A Child 2004 on the front and Backdoor Saloon with Harley Davidson on the back. They stopped the highway as we left to go to Everybody's the group got divided so the line of bikes wasn't as impressive but once we arrived I got some pictures of the bikes down one side of the street that took up nearly two blocks. Leaving to go to Darrel's we were about 45 minutes late. At Darrel's we announced the best, second best, and worst poker hand winners, drew for the raffled prizes and ate some excellent BBQ. Jeremy was at Darrel's but seemed to have a problem with the noise. Things died down about 6pm and it was time to say goodbye. Thanks again to everyone for making it a big success and a lot of fun. I asked Jeremy that night if he had fun and he indicated that he did. |
| Blue Springs Car Wash
Unfortunately there is so much going on trying to put the house together that we weren't able to help. Jeremy's brother John helped though. It sounds like they majority of the people who got their car washed were Wal-Mart employees. Thanks to everyone who helped and to everyone who donated! Thanks Donna for putting it together! Thanks again everyone! |
| The Golf Tournament Bent Oaks was beautiful and the day was absolutely perfect. The ground was still fairly wet from the downpour the day before but we really couldn't have had better weather. It was a little overcast early in the morning with a nice breeze that kept it cool. Half way through the day the sun came out and actually started making it a little warm. We had the opportunity to meet new people as well as visit with family and friends. It was one of the most fun fundraisers we've done. At least for me. I know a lot of people put a lot of work into it. Thank you very much for that. I've added some pictures. Unfortunately my camera was dead so they are low quality pics taken with my phone. There really are a ton of people to thank for this event as well as all the others. If I named them all this page would be a mile long. Just know that the family really appreciates all that you've done and we love you all for caring so much. Thanks again everyone! |
| The Raffle The raffle has ended and the names have been picked. View the Raffle page to see the list of names. It was a lot more work that I thought it would be. Thanks to the family and friends that helped sell the tickets and thanks to everyone that bought them. For us it isn't over yet. I'm busy contacting winners and then we have to start delivering the gifts. It was a really fun experience though. Hopefully everyone had fun participating and hopefully those who won will enjoy their gifts. I want to again thank the many people and businesses that donated the gifts that were raffled. The one thing we learned was that we had too many gifts in a single raffle. Some businesses donated a few other things later that we did not include in the raffle so hopefully we'll be able to put those items in another raffle or on eBay. Thanks again everyone! |
| The Ice Skating Party The ice skating fund raiser was a big hit with the kids. I know the parents have fun too but the kids really got into it. There were a few beginners but they seemed to just enjoy being there. Lots of music playing and they could be noisy and burn off lots of energy. Jeremy was there much longer than we planned. I think it really wore him out going to the two events that day. (It was good for him though.) Thanks again to everyone that came out and participated! |
| The Chili Supper The chili supper was a very big hit. Unfortunately we were there at the slowest point but apparently they took in quite a few people and helped our cause immensely. I saw a few children and they seemed to have a pretty good time. I think everyone else had a great time because so many people were around to carry on conversations with. The Legion is always a great place to visit. The bunch there is very lively and fun to talk to. If you like to here stories of the past or are really interested in talking to some patriotic people the legion is a must. They have dinners to raise money often. Take the time to go during their steak dinners. You won't be disappointed!!! As for the chili, it too was great and really a very good deal. Thanks to everyone that worked it and to everyone that participated!! |
| Car Wash The car wash did really well. I was actually surprised because the sky was heavily overcast and the forecast called for rain on Sunday. Anyway, the kids did an excellent job. I would like to thank everyone that participated. The adults did a lot of work as well. Remax helped out by donating money to buy hotdogs and pop for us to sell. Really I'd like to thank everyone individually for all the work they did but I'd unintentionally leave some out and I'd feel terrible so let me just say one big thank you!! |
| Kettle Korn I only stopped at the Kettle Korn fund raiser for short time before heading to the hospital but everyone there seemed to be having fun. There was a lot going on. Some kids (unrelated to our fund raiser) were washing cars to earn money to go to Australia, the Shriners were there selling tickets to the circus, a DJ was setup in the parking lot playing tunes and Hy-Vee had a tent in the parking lot with big sale items inside. It looked pretty lively. The Kettle Korn fund raiser also worked on Sunday. Nancy said they didn't do as well as Saturday but I would like to thank everyone for helping with that too. We really appreciate your hard work! One big thank you to you as well!! |
| Landmark Skating Party The President of the PTA and the owner of the rink both said it was the biggest turnout of any party Spring Valley has ever had. Even the principal, almost all of the teachers, and several employees and regular patrons of the rink came out to support Jeremy. They made several announcements dedicating the party to Jeremy, and even played his favorite song. A lot of people asked about him and wished him well, and several said they would be out to see him sometime this week. Hats off to Landmark, Spring Valley PTA, and all the students, parents, teachers and employees for making last night such a success. |
